Children’s Ministry of Initiation (CMI) meets on Sunday Mornings. It is a two year sacramental process which is an adaptation of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for children under the age of 18. It is open to both the un-baptized and to those who were baptized in the Catholic Church, but have missed the study and sacramental preparation offered in early grade school. It is also open to those baptized in other traditions. Regular attendance of both the child and at least one parent is expected.

Do you wish you could be part of a ministry at Sunday Mass, but are told you are too young? Well, here’s an opportunity for you! If you are entering 5th grade in the fall, you can be an altar server at Mass. This is a great way to become even more familiar with the Mass, be involved and begin giving back to God and the Church. Training for new servers will be held on Monday, September 25th in the church from 6:30—8:00 PM. We request that one parent/guardian attend training with the new server.

Join us on October 4th at 4:00 PM in the parish lot near the School Lunch Room. This blessing gives thanks for the companionship of our pets, asks God to keep them healthy, and that they be a source of pleasure for the Earth and our homes. Children and all households who care for God’s creatures are invited to bring your pet for the traditional blessing of animals. It is common to bring dogs and cats, but you can also bring your hamsters, birds, bunnies and the like. It is safer for your small pet, such as these, to be in their cage.

St. Hubert has been designated a “Teaching Parish” by Mundelein Seminary, the graduate school of theology of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Last week we met our three seminarians who the Seminary assigned to St. Hubert to get involved in parish life and to be a part of our community. Here is some background on Ryan Brady and David Jameson. We’ll be hearing from Tom Heathershaw during Seminary Weekend on September 23-24.

One catechist is needed for a small Children's Ministry of Initiation (CMI) class on Sunday Mornings 8:45-10:15 AM.

Catechist for Grades 3  & 5 on Saturdays, 9:00—10:45 AM and Catechist Aides for Wednesdays, Saturdays, & Sundays.

He’s In Our Midst! And, Two Ways We’re Helping Those in Need

St. Hubert Parish is holding our annual Fall Blood Drive on Sunday, November 12 in the lower level of church from 8:00 AM—2:00 PM

Training for new servers will be held on Monday, September 25th in the church from 6:30—8:00 PM. We request that one parent/guardian attend training with the new server.

This special parish process is for families with older children, grades 3rd through 8th, Who have never been baptized and are interested in becoming Catholic; Who were baptized in another denomination and are considering becoming Catholic; Who have been baptized Roman Catholic, but have received little or no formal religious education and have not received the sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation.

It begins with an awareness… or a stirring in one’s heart for something more. It could be a curiosity or a sense of longing for fulfillment. Maybe it’s God calling you to explore the life of faith, love, and justice within the community of the Catholic Church….
