This beautiful, special season is a good time to recognize and thank our liturgical ministers - lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, altar servers and sacristans - as well as the unscheduled cadre of ushers who serve our Masses with such dedication and care. Our choir and music ministries, under the direction of Ed Magistrado, make the Masses truly shine. Please take a moment to thank a liturgical minister for this wonderful gift to you! May God fill them with joy for their service, and may He inspire you, too, to join their ranks this coming year!

The birth of the Christ Child brings joy to our lives this Christmas Season. Even if we have been away from the Church, God is continually inviting us to dwell in his love and presence. Have you and your family been "away" from the Catholic Church? Is your family trying to find its way back? If so—then Children’s Ministry of Initiation (CMI) can help.

This weekend, the Knights of Columbus Council #6964 will be passing out prayer cards to prepare us for the feast of the Holy Family. The Holy Family is the example we all look to strengthen our own families. Stronger families also create more involved parishes.  The Knights of Columbus invite each family to pray to the Holy Family. Praying during the week will help us prepare for the Feast and will also help devote ourselves to the ideal model of family love set by Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Children, you are invited to prepare the manger in church for the coming of Baby Jesus. After Mass, you are invited to place a few pieces of straw in the manger crib to help get it ready for the coming of Baby Jesus. You are also invited to take home a small packet of straw for your manger at home.

CAFE presents this 7 part series that begins on January 9, 2019. Sr. Glenna Czachor, OSF will help us explore themes and documents of Catholic Social Teaching, make connections to the social issues and concerns of today, engage in scripture study and small group sharing, and face the challenge towards action and advocacy.

However, much of the domestic violence that takes place in a home is a power struggle to control others.

The holiday season can be difficult times for many people. In This workshop we will explore the ways that faith can help us break the barriers of sadness and embrace joy again. Mayslake Ministries invites you to this program on December 27.

To Be Joyful Again is a nondenominational support group for widows, widowers, or anyone else who has lost a significant other, meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM at Holy Family Parish, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness. Come get the support you need in this difficult time. All are welcome.
