Basic 2 Week Training for Ministers of Care will be held at St. James Parish, 820 N. Arlington Heights Road, in Arlington Heights on two Saturdays, October 8th & October 15th from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM

A communal celebration of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will occur on Sunday October 9th at the 6:00 PM Mass. Please mark your calendar and join us.

The pastoral care of the sick recognizes that sickness prevents people from attending the everyday activities of daily living. This can include attendance at Mass. At the same time, the sick person reminds the community of the sufferings of Jesus and the limitations of human life. Our concern for the sick mirrors that of Jesus, who visited and cared for the sick.

Celebrating the Eucharist is at the very heart of our faith. However, because of illness or injury, many of our fellow Catholics in the St. Hubert area cannot join in the celebration. To ensure that these community members stay connected to us, we invite individuals to consider becoming a minister of care. These ministry volunteers are a wonderful “invisible army” that works quietly, diligently, and lovingly to bring our Lord to those who could not otherwise receive communion.
