Interested in the Catholic Church and becoming Catholic? Adult Ministry of Initiation (AMI) may be the place for you! We follow the OCIA process, formerly known as RCIA. OCIA stands for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults and it is the process through which people join or complete their initiation into the Catholic Church. The OCIA process is an opportunity for those who have never been baptized, or baptized with little or no affiliation or religious training in the Catholic religion, to learn and ask questions about the Catholic faith. This includes those who may have been baptized Catholic, but have not yet received their First Communion or Confirmation. Sometimes after the information meetings, prayer and reflection, participants choose to begin the process for becoming Catholic, or coming into full Communion with the Church. It is important to note; however, that no commitment is expected of participants at this time. We are scheduling interviews for those thinking about joining the Catholic Church or Adult Catholics wishing to complete the Sacraments of Initiation. Call Marie Staffa at 847-885-7700, ext, 124 or email her at [email protected]. Please note: if you are an adult whose only need of completing your initiation is through the Sacrament of Confirmation, or if you are fully initiated but have been away from the Church and interested in returning, know that we have separate ministries to welcome you into or back to the fullness of our Church.
