Dear Father Mike Scherschel, Cecilia Rupert, and all involved in your Generosity,
I am writing to thank you for your generosity this holiday season, a generosity that will significantly affect the lives of families in the Chicago community. At a time of year when we are constantly bombarded with announcements of a joyous Christmas and the many offerings that it brings, many forget that not everyone is having a Merry Christmas and that much of what is taken is cause for special celebration in some households.
Your concern for those in need was clearly demonstrated by your expressions of support and giving. It is gratifying to know that other people are supportive of the work we do and are willing to become actively involved in caring for those who are most vulnerable in our society.
I thank you in the name of the families you have adopted, in the name of our church and the service center. Your contributions of time and Donations has provided not only an unforgettable Christmas for the children and dignity for the families but also an example of the true nature of Christmas.
On behalf of Rev. Claudio Diaz, Jr, our parish staff and our parishioners: We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Sincerely,
Manny Vazquez, Food Service Coordinator
St. Aloysius Parish
