This past Monday, Church of the Holy Spirit hosted the “Grouping Feedback & Discernment Teams” of Saint Hubert, Church of the Holy Spirit, Saint Marcelline and Saint Matthew. We received an overview of the process and had a chance to talk about the Cardinal’s vision, which isn’t just to look at how the parishes in our area should be structured, but to also find ways to renew the spiritual life of our Archdiocese. It’s to live the primary mission of the Church: to make disciples and build communities that are centered on the gospel. The Teams will all head here on Monday. We’ll be talking about the realities we all face—looking at the strengths and challenges of each of the parishes as well as outside factors and data, things like the census data and trends. After the third meeting on September 12, each parish team will meet with their various leadership councils. Then, we’ll bring the discussion to the wider parish at a Town Hall Meeting on Monday, September 26. In the meantime, as we look ahead, we stay anchored with our feet on the ground. May God continue to nurture us, lead us, guide us and sustain us in all we do.
