I’ve learned from the Helping Hands Ministry, that it is often the simplest gestures that bring the greatest pleasure. This sentiment became apparent to me through my interactions with a single mom and her 8 year old daughter. After assisting them with a move from another town and to a new school, I asked if there was anything else they might need. The mom had said that her daughter loved to watch movies from the library, but they did not have a VHS player to view them. After a few inquiries from friends, I was able to locate one. If only you could have seen the smile on this child’s face when she pushed the play button and her movie appeared on the TV. Sharing resources, what a simple yet meaningful act!
