One of the most iconic symbols of the Christmas spirit in the Philippines is the Christmas lantern, called a paról. The word parol came from the Spanish word, farol, which means lantern. The origin of the parol can be traced back to the Spanish colonial era in the Philippines when the Spaniards introduced Christianity to the Filipinos. The parol is widely considered as a representation of the Star of Bethlehem that guided the Three Wise Men to the manger of the baby Jesus.
Learn how to make parol on Saturday, November 16 from 2:00—4:00 PM, at the Parish Ministry Center. To ensure we have adequate supplies, please RSVP by texting
